snapshots from my back porch

sometimes i wish the moment of dusk
would last forever
like the perfect snapshot
no worriers, calm, surrender
sitting on my back porch
with a drink in one hand
and a cigarette in the other
the sound of rain
washes away all sin
the realities of tomorrow don’t exist
just the eternal moment….of now
old and young are relative terms
infinity reaches out to me
no longer helpless
my mind is free to wander
places I dare not tread
during 9-5 hours
